I am currently using Debian Lenny and bacula 2.4.3-1.

Before I was using I presume something like version 2.2X.

On the earlier version, using a HP Ultrium 448 and LTO-2 tapes of 400GB, i was able to write more than 150 GB to the tape.

After a reboot of the machine, probably also hitting a kernel update (running earlier Debian Etch 2.6.18, after reboot etch 2.6.22) I was not able to access the tape unit any more.
